As a child, the best gift was a big box of crayons... I even loved the smell of them. I would spend hours studying my subject and do my five-year-old best to make it come alive on paper. Though much has changed since then, I am compelled to return again and again to my childhood pasttime.

The painting process allows me to savor and save fleeting moments, and to look, really look at the beauty that is all around us.
